Rubber Modified Liquid W/P Membrane

SAB®tex 2000:
is a high performance ready to use, cold applied, high build liquid
waterproofing membrane based on polymer modified bitumen emulsion. SAB®tex 2000 forms a seamless, highly elastic and durable film that adheres well to most of the common substrates e.g. concrete, cement blocks, wood, existing roof felts. SAB®tex 2000 is highly resistant to chlorides and sulphates commonly
present in the soil. Also resistant to fungus growth.
USES
• Waterproofing of concrete and block foundations, retaining walls, basements and wet areas such as kitchen, toilet floors and balconies.
• Damp proof membrane in sandwich panel constructions
• Curing membrane cum protective coating for sub structure
• Façade damp proofing

FEATURES
• Single component, ready to use.
• Resistant to temperatures from -20 0C to +110 0C.
• Easy to use.
• Non-flammable and Non-toxic. • Applicable on damp surfaces.

2. PROPERTIES OF DRY FILM Softening point R & B (ASTM D36 - 84) : > 100ºC. Elongation at break (ASTM D412) : 700% approximately Water vapour permeability (ASTM E96 - 92) : 0.15gr/m2/day Resistance to water (ASTM D2939) : No Blistering or reemulsification STANDARDS Protection of buildings against Ground water: As per BS 102 Code of practice. Curing membrane: ASTM C 309:1998 ASTM D 2939 PREPARATION OF SURFACE All surfaces should be sound, clean and free of contaminants. Absorbent surfaces e.g. concrete should preferably be dampened with water. In kitchens, toilets and other wet areas all the openings should be properly sealed. On all weak points such as cracks or around the pipes use a woven fiberglass mesh as SAB ® tex 2000 APPLICATION AND CLEANING OF TOOLS SAB ® tex 2000 can be applied by brush, roller or squeegee. Hot, dry or very porous substrate should be dampened with clean water prior to application of SAB ® tex 2000 . When two or more coats are required, ensure that the preceding coat is fully dry before applying the successive coat, which should be applied at right angle to preceding coat. SAB ® tex 2000 als o acts as a curing membrane; hence it may be applied to fresh concrete immediately after the removal of formwork, eliminating the need of conventional curing with water. Since it gives a permanent black finish SAB ® tex 2000 is recommended as curing membrane only for surfaces which have no aesthetic value such as sub - structures of buildings. Caution: Should not be used as curing membrane on surfaces to be painted. HEALTH AND SAFETY Use normal safety precautions. Wear rubber hand gloves, safety shoes and safety goggles while using and handling the product. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of accidental contact with eyes, wash with plenty of water and seek medical treatment immediately. APPLICATION RATE  For damp proofing/vapour barrier: 3 – 4 m² / kg /coat – Apply 2 coats  Waterproofing membrane: 1m²/ kg /coat – apply 2 coats  Curing membrane: 2 – 3 m²/kg – apply one coat
