1. AWAZEL P RIMER – D 41 Solvent Based Bituminous Primer Complies with ASTM D 41 DESCRIPTION AWAZEL PRIMER D 41 is a n asphaltic primer suitable for uses in roofing, damp proofing and wate rproofing. It is used as surface dressing for masonry, metal, concrete substrate to improve the bond of bituminous materials. FEATURES • Improves the bond of bituminous materials. • Binder for dust particles. • Surface dressing to masonry, concrete and metal surfaces. • Confirms to the requirements of ASTM D 41. • Formulated for hot /tropical climates. USES AWAZEL PRIMER D 41 is suitable for use with asphalt in roofing, damp proofing and waterproofing below or above ground level, for application to concrete, mas onry, metal and asphalt surfaces. Also used as a primer coat to receive membranes or liquid asphalts and asphalt products. INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICATION SurfacePreparation: The surface must be clean and free of oil, grease, debris or other foreign matters . Application : After stirring well, AWAZEL PRIMER D 41 can be applied by brush, roller or spray equipment. It Should be allowed to dry . CLEANING: The primer can be removed from equipment and tools with any suitable solvent such as gasoline or kero sene. C OVERAGE Approximate rate: 0.2 – 0.3 kg/m 2 . The exact rate will depend upon the porosity or smoothness of the surface. HEALTH & SAFETY Workers should wear protective tools such as gloves and goggles during application. PRECAUTIONS AWAZEL P RIMER D 41 contains volatile solvent and has a low flash point. Care must be taken to ensure that there is adequate ventilation in the working place; fires and naked flames should be kept at a distance. PACKING AWAZEL PRIMER D 41 is packed in 180 kg drums and 16 kg Pail. Other weights are available upon request. STORAGE Store in a dry and shaded area in original packing. The container should be kept covered while working in order to prevent the evaporation of solvent.
