TDS - EnerSeal Tape, Nano Seal Technology, Heavy Duty Tape

Public Channel / Data Sheets

EnerSeal Tape – Nano Seal Technology is an advanced permanent solution for virtually all types of leaking roofs and
joints. It is a single step and quick set long-lasting solution for any water, vapor, and air leaks. EnerSeal Tape is a U.S.
active sealant technology, which is based on various elastomeric polymers blended to form the strongest bond with
the substrate and permanently stop the leak. Elastomeric polymer adhesives are protected and backed by fleece,
which provides additional flexibility when applied on intricate surface profiles.
Nano Seal Technology provides the utmost bonding strength possible today. The tape adhesive is formed by blending
various elastomeric polymers that contain self-priming properties. It generates the bonding strength by reacting and
forming a bond at a molecular level. The tendency of polymers to virtually bond with almost all types of substrates
makes it one of the most versatile and universal adhesive products.

EnerSeal Tape – Nano Seal Technology can be used to seal metal overlaps, side laps, end laps, terminations, drain gutters, skylights, extrusions, flashings, concrete joints, concrete cracks, windows, bitumen membrane overlaps, TPO joints, EPDM joints, Dissimilar materials. SUITABLE SUBSTRATES APPLICATION AREAS Surface must be clean and dry with no oil, grease or lose debris. Any existing salt or any contamination can be removed by pressure washing using fresh water. Any existing rust on metal surfaces must be cleaned using a wire brush and use ENERCON Antirust primer, Ener-Prime 100, before tape application. Ensure the surface to be dry of any moisture, dew, or frost before tape application. SURFACE PREPARATION Keep the tape rolls stored in a covered area with No direct sun exposure and at temperature below 43°C. Do not stretch tape before installation. Use sharp scissors or sharp cutter to cut the tape into smaller pieces. Shelf Life of 5 years when stored at ambient room temperature. Tape thickness is 35 mils (0.889 mm) and roll length is 50 ft (15.2 meter). Below are the packing sizes depending on the width of tape. Tape is available in Fleece Top, Black Top, White Top & Gray Top. STORAGE AND HANDLING Measure the length of the area to seal and cut the tape length accordingly. It is suggested to cut tape into smaller pieces for ease in handling, however if there are two or more applicators working then use without cutting into smaller pieces. Remove release liner of the tape and press the tape onto the cleaned surface. Use your hands with gloves or steel roller to apply pressure on top of tape. Use roller or hand pressure to release any entrapped air. In case of overlaps, 50% of the tape width must be overlapped for horizontal joints and 7cm overlap for vertical joints. Make sure the tape is applied on the exact surface, as tape cannot be peeled or removed, once applied. In the case of Fleece top tape, use EnerFlex SB100 or EnerFlex SF200 as UV resistant topcoat.
