V Bond SL 40 is a blend of specially selected cements, graded aggregates, polymers, plasticizers and a set of control additives to produce a smooth free flowing and self levelling material which can be lai d to a feather edge . V Bond SL 40 has the following advantages : ▪ Specially developed for Middle East climatic conditions ▪ Fluid consistency ensures that the product levels out to a smooth even surface upon pouring ▪ Can be used directly on concrete floors to provide a smooth level ed surface without the use of screed ▪ Polymer modified formulation ensures excellent adhesion to pre pared substrates ▪ One pack product, which is simply mixed with water on site ▪ Quick easy laying and fast hardening ▪ Premixed to avoid site - mixing errors ▪ Self - levelling and smoothing Recommended Applications V Bond SL 40 provides a self - levelling, cementitious underlay for a wide variety of floor finishe s which require a smooth level substrate , such as : ▪ Carpeting ▪ V inyl sheeting ▪ L inoleum flooring ▪ R ubber sheets Supply 25 Kg: Powder Component Paper Bag Application Surface Preparation : It is vital that the surface must be cleaned thoroughly of all contaminants which may affect the bonding . Surface must be free from oil, grease, paints, dirt , dust, loose particles, etc. This can be done by grit blasting or mechanical grinding of the concrete floor , lightly. After cleaning, remove any leftover debris. N ew concrete surface s should be cured at least 21 days prior to application . Large cracks and holes may be filled with a suitable repair mortar prior to the application, to ensure a good bond. EniPoxy EF 42 ( epoxy resin - based repair putty and mortar ) can be used to repair minor imperfections, cracks and blow holes. Priming : Prior to application, substrates must be primed/sealed using V BOND P120 dispersion primer. Mixing : V Bond SL 40 should be mixed with a heavy - duty drill fitted with a purpose made paddle. Each 25 kg bag of V Bond SL 40 requires the addition of 5.5 - 6.5 litres of water to produce a free - flowing self - levelling consistency . Application : Pour the mixed material onto the primed substrate, spread with a trowel or squeegee and allow to self - level. The material must then be rolled with a spike roller to achieve air release and final level ling . Rolling must be done immediately after placing the material. Do not attempt to float the setting surface. The required thickness must be achieved in one application. Also, the best results are achieved when the pouring and levelling is a continuous process until the designated area is completed. Good site organization is essential. Coverage : Approximately 2 kg/m 2 @ 1mm thick ness. Coverage may vary depending on the profile of the substrate. Precaution : Application should not commence if the temperature of the substrate is below 5 o C. Freshly laid V Bond SL 40 should be protected from direct sunlight and/or strong drying winds until the material is hard ( minimum of 24 hours). Note: V Bond SL 40 can be applied up to 6 mm thickness at the normal conditions. As per the site condition and requirement V Bond SL 40 can be modified to apply up to 25 mm thickness.
